Every morning I :
Spend time with my son when we first wake up, it is something that I treasure. Then I have a good breakfast that sets me up for the day
Health means to me :
Finding the joy in striking a balance.
When eating out, I always :
Ensure I am getting some greens in there so that I don't have to feel guilty if I eat something indulgent.
I believe in :
Striving to reach deeper awareness and live more mindfully.
My favourite quote is :
'Be the change you wish to see in the world'
My last day on earth would be spent :
With my son and hubby Mark in a rainforest with an abundance of lush fruit. Being with love in love.
I can’t live without :
My son!! He has come into my life and high jacked it in the best way. He is what I live for. In terms of a material possession- my phone. It gives me access to information, knowledge, captures moments and helps me communicate. Sometimes I need to take self imposed breaks from it though!
I would never :
Intentionally cause suffering to another being.
My favourite gratitude practice is :
Having quiet moments of reflection. I often find a moment in the day when the busy-ness of life has slowed down and even for just 5 minutes I take a look at all of the remarkable and beautiful things I have in my life. It instantly takes me to a more grateful and present place.
Inner work is crucial to me because :
Being a person who knows themselves well and strives to find further enlightenment, contentment, knowledge and mindfulness means that having a more peaceful and fulfilling experience in life is a priority to me. Not only will that positively effect my own experience but it will positively impact those that I have relationships with. Its from this place that i feel I can achieve things that are really meaningful and can positively affect the greater community.
You might think I’m crazy, but :
I want 6 children, its seriously my number, plus my step son Isaac would make it 7! My husband and I are aiming high, but of course we will see where we land!
Don’t ever tell me to :
Stop wearing earplugs and an eye mask to sleep! Many moons ago I had terrible insomnia and it quite literally scarred me for life haha. Since that period I can’t sleep without the most hardcore noise reduction earplugs and two eye masks. It’s funny my son who sleeps in between my husband and I will wake up for a breastfeed in the middle of the night and pull out my earplugs and eye mask to feed, he gets too weirded out otherwise haha.
If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be :
Guacamole (and corn chips with a hint of lime and sea salt!)!! It would have to be hands down my favourite thing to eat, I can't get enough of it!! I'm lucky in LA as Mexican food is so prevalent (and so good!!) so I can always get my guac fix!!
Every week I :
I would like to say that I try to exercise and meditate but if I’m totally honest right now I haven’t been doing either. Between trying to be really present with Bodhi AND shooting movies I haven’t had working out or meditation as a priority as much as A) spending one on one Bodhi led play time with him and B) Taking a moment out for myself and listening to my favourite podcast to unwind (Atomic Moms)
You’ll always find in my fridge :
An abundance of Kombucha!! in grape, strawberry and raspberry!
Exercise should be :
Spontaneous and fun! Certainly not a chore. I haven’t felt like exercising recently so I haven’t in about 2 months, don’t put too much pressure on yourself and remember to focus on strength as opposed to looking skinny. Try to sweat a little with each session.
When I grow up I want to be :
... able to look back on my life and see that I have been able to use my profile for good and affect positive change.
The best way to heal is :
With natural food! I am a huge believer in letting your body heal naturally, where possible. One of my favourite quotes is: Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
My number 1 beauty tip :
Natural almond oil! I swear by it! It is naturally rich in vitamins A, B and E which are all essential for skin health!
