If you’re not slightly obsessed with finding new Apps to keep you organised, happy, healthy and connected then you probably won’t get the joy out of this post that I got from writing it.
I am organisationally obsessed. If someone comes at me with the sentence “I’ve got this great new app that…” I’m already onto the app store and searching before they’ve finished telling me what it does. Pre smart phones I was all about the post it note and I had (and have still kept) mountains of journals and notepads.
I’m not 100% sure what this says about me but it’s a habit I like and I think it serves me well.
So I wanted to share with you my fave apps, because when somethings good, I want to share it and make sure that everyone is benefiting.
Evernote
Ohh my goodness this is the ultimate for me. I use Evernote to keep all my clients forms, contracts and notes very neatly organised and also accessible for me wherever I am. This app is on my computer, iPad and iPhone so if I’m out and need to check on something for a client, the answer is at my fingertips. Plus the search function is amazing. If you scan a document or take a photo of a magazine article, when you search a keyword it will literally scan every single word in all of your files to find all the relevant document.
I also use this to keep personal notes, daily musings and inspiration I find from around the web. All in files and folders so that I know where to go when I need to find that article on sleep or fun new game ideas for Bo.
Paprika
One of my most loving clients recommended this app to me and it’s saved my kitchen life. This is a place where you can store all of your recipes, in categories on your phone. Plus it can sync to your computer and other devices also. I put all my recipes I find online into this app and if I’m out with no idea what to cook for dinner, I can have a little look through and find a good recipe for that evening and grab the ingredients on the way home. And having the categories means I can decide what type of cuisine I want or let me search depending on what I have in my fridge.
Way Of Life
This is a habit building app that is perfect for you type A personalities like myself who cannot stand to see the little red number that signals an unread message or missed call. You put in all the habits you want to make or break and each day you either tick green or cross red if you’ve achieved that goal for the day. My list will contain things that I need to build on, like making sure I write down what I’m grateful for each day (yes, my life and business revolves around it but I still forget) and having TV free days and making sure I’ve been to the loo (I like to make sure that stays regular). If there is something you’re wanting to do more or something you’re wanting to reduce in your life, this is your app! It even gives you breakdowns of the week and your progress.
Modern Essentials
Listen up essential oil fanatics, if you don’t have this app, you don’t know oils. Modern essentials is like a little essential oil search engine. If you want to know what an oil is good for, type in the name and it will come up with the full description and how to use it. If you’re wanting to soothe a rash or reduce stress then there will be a list of oils that will help and the ways you should use them.
A Colour Story
Super cute filtering app. I love all the filters and could spend hours going through them. Unlike most photo editing apps where there is one filter that almost everyone uses, this one has a huge array and they’re all gorgeous, plus cute little effects you can add onto each image.
Hippie Lane
If you’re loving raw vegan snacks, or even just loving food then this might just be the recipe app you’ve always dreamed of. It’s visually STUNNING with so many cute recipes, birthday cakes, sweet snacks, salads… Just a whole lot of beautiful and delicious food that is surprisingly easy to make.
Smiling Mind
I rarely use this app but I recommend it to ALL people wanting to start meditating. It’s free and offers short and sweet guided meditations depending on where you are in your mindfulness practice. It’s simple to use and a great tool to get you meditating.
That’s it! My top apps that I love and adore. I hope you guys can get something from these also, I love sharing the love and would be thrilled if you would share your best health apps for me in the comments below.
